The fact that Social media has become a very powerful tool is known far and wide, but with the growing popularity of social media all the many popular social media platforms it is becoming tricky to handle. One needs to ensure that all of these super popular platforms are used to their full potentials and the content put up is able to engage the target audiences. Since all of these tend to function in different ways, the use of social media insights for each is different and produces different results. For this very reason, we are breaking down the strategies into a few simple steps.

Let us begin with Twitter:

Twitter Impressions

Twitter Impressions

Twitter gives you a head start on insights with its free analytics dashboard. With this option, you can closely monitor the success of your content and the engagement you are able to create, providing a key statistics to your account. From new followers to the most effective tweets you will know it all, this feature provides a 28 day summary of your account.

If you track it from one month to other, you can measure the number of new followers and popularity that you have been able to bag.

You can monitor closely and compare longer durations and your performances in the period, the 28 days range is a default you can alter the period. There is also a breakdown of your tweets where not only can you see the engagement but also the number of impressions. These insights, together with insights available for all your tweets, should be enough to help you make out a pattern that appeals to your target audience and help you figure out their likes and dislikes.

And here we are, the super hit: Facebook Insights:

Facebook comes powered with its very own analytics known as the Facebook Insights, the feature is not available if there are under 30 likes on your page. With these insights not only can you determine what best engages your audience but also figure out the best timings to make a post, the key is to be impactful. Posting the right thing at the right time to the right audience is just what can make your social media management not only the most productive but also effective in term of ROI short for Return On Investment.

All you have to do is click on the insights tab, which shows at the top of your Facebook page. Not only can you view your FIVE most recent posts here but also for each of your posts be able to view the outreach, if you sponsored the post, it will also show you how much money you spent and the volume of comments, shares, likes and clicks. You can hence judge the popularity of the post with these figures.

Twitter started to roll out its Redesign: Impressed or Not?

Umair Qureshi one comments

Twitter  has started to roll out its new redesign to fewer people and gradually it will roll out to public probably by coming week. New redesign is a little more fancier with new features and some say its almost look-like Facebook new design and to which I agree too. Micro-blogging website initially tested it in February, new features to include large headers, pinned & highlight tweets option as well as three column layout that has timeline view, rich media panel and mention & reply tab.

According to the official blog post announcement:

What’s new about the new you? The new web profile lets you use a larger profile photo, customize your header, show off your best Tweets and more. Here are main features:

  • Best Tweets: Tweets that have received more engagement will appear slightly larger, so your best content is easy to find.

  • Pinned Tweet: Pin one of your Tweets to the top of your page, so it’s easy for your followers to see what you’re all about.

  • Filtered Tweets: Now you can choose which timeline to view when checking out other profiles. Select from these options: Tweets, Tweets with photos/videos, or Tweets and replies.

I must say that am already impressed with upcoming  features and redesign despite of its resemblance with Facebook, much clearer showcase of profile information and followers list at left side, news feed in center and trends section at right side of the page gives it a proper social network look.  The new design update and its features looks a lot more exciting than its previous layout with large size display picture, big header image which enables more ways to showcase brand’s/individual’s profiles.

According to the blog, it rolled out to few people and eventually it will be available to all twitter users. However, people who have just joined twitter will be able to see new design.

Are you impressed with the new twitter redesign and its features?

How Increased Twitter Engagement Helps Gaining Website Traffic?

Umair Qureshi one comments

Twitter was my second favorite social medium after Facebook but recently it got my all attention when I actively started engaging on my twitter account that was created back in September 2009. Well initially the reason of lack of attention I gave it due to the Facebook success I was getting and which is why it never distracted me to think for the alternatives of social mediums that could drive engagements and referral visits to blogs/websites.

But then we all know in the end of the last year, Facebook organic reach decreases due to the Facebook news feed algorithm changes and because of it all the fan page engagement and referral visits got seriously effected.

Although for my personal website I never relied on Facebook due to niche and audience factors. So this was also another reason to find my ways into Twitter. I found Twitter as a serious niche for generating business & revenue. It is supposedly said that it has serious people operating on it with a proper business knowledge of their respective industries. On twitter, your potential customers may involve in pre sales talk and discussions, decision makers actively participate and inquire what they need to know before reaching out to any decision. So it has a lot more to offer for small and large businesses to reach out to those potential customers who are looking for guidance and this is where brands could help them in this all important decision making process. So its so important to device a plan and follow best strategies that would eventually help brands to reach out to the potential followers and business prospects who are talking about your product or services.

With just 1800+ followers, my blog top referral traffic source is Twitter so whenever I share my blog post with my followers they click on it & if they find it interesting or relevant they share it with their own followers as well which increases more reach and helps to gain website traffic.

Getting Started with Twitter?

Twitter has finally introduced images and videos in the user news feed. The micro-blogging website made a key change to its design today that will feature media-rich content more prominently. Now the users wont need to “expand” the post to see pictures or vine videos as those will be appearing in the news feed automatically.

Check out my first post below with the visual content where i didn’t have to expand my post in order to view my visual tweet.

Twitter feed with images

According to a Twitter blog post :

So many of the great moments you share on Twitter are made even better with photos or with videos from Vine. These rich Tweets can bring your followers closer to what’s happening, and make them feel like they are right there with you.

We want to make it easier for everyone to experience those moments on Twitter. That’s why starting today, timelines on Twitter will be more visual and more engaging: previews of Twitter photos and videos from Vine will be front and center in Tweets. To see more of the photo or play the video, just tap.

We’ve also made it easier for you to reply, retweet or favorite a Tweet without leaving your timeline; you can tap to do that right inside the Tweets you see in your timeline.

User feeds will be now mixed with pictures and click to play videos which users have already used to see this on their Instagram. This feature is rolled out to Twitter website so now you can also try your first visual tweet.

For the marketing perspective this is certainly a great step. As with proper call to actions and clear image of your product/services user doesn’t need to put his efforts to click and expand to view images it will be shown up instantly to them, ultimately this could result increase in higher click through’s  on your provided link and more image views or video plays.

Have you tried your first post with the visual content? How did it work.. let me know in the comments 🙂
